After attracting an increasing number of festival goers who had no interest in Paganism in the years 2013-14 and  who only came to party, we had a year off in 2015 to think about how best to get the Gathering back to the family friendly, relaxed, spiritual Pagan camp it had been previously, and rebooted the Mercian Gathering in 2016 as an invitation only Pagan event. Sadly, we are only one of several Pagan camps forced to take this step for similar reasons.
